El fin del Amor de Selena y The Weeknd

It became apparent that things were definitely over between Selena Gomez and the Weeknd (né Abel Tesfaye) after the former was seen attending church with Justin Bieber on Sunday.

At first, the Weeknd was like “this is fine, what deviant undertakings can possible occur in the House of God,” but apparently he’s since rethought his stance. According to E!:
Not only was Bieber photographed hanging out at Gomez’s house last weekend, they were also spotted enjoying breakfast at JOi Cafe in Westlake Village, Calif., on Sunday—just a few days after Gomez and The Weeknd called it quits.
Now, a source tells E! News, “Abel is upset about Selena hanging out with Justin, especially twice in the same week.”
I should think! Meanwhile, Gomez’s family is rather alarmed by the return of Bieber, even if their brunching and church-attending is in fact totally platonic. According to People:
“Justin is aware Selena’s family is not thrilled they are hanging out. They think he caused Selena a lot of grief,” says a Bieber pal. “Justin hopes he can prove to them that he has changed.”
“He has changed a lot in the past few months. He is a very different person,” adds the pal. “They have a lot to talk about and are having fun catching up.”
In any case, sources continue to insist that Bieber had nothing to do with the breakup. Also from People:
“She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship,” said the insider. “It’s been hard with him being on tour and her in New York. That wasn’t easy for them.”
Put more bluntly, via Page Six:
“Everyone wants love, but his focus is the business,” a source said. “He’s building a legacy. He’s young and successful with money and can have any girl he wants. Their relationship kind of came out of nowhere.”
Another source added, “He’s a supreme player. He hits the scene hard. [Selena’s] more subtle with it.”
